Case Studies
SRH Engineering worked closely with the Architecture team to deliver a bespoke alterations and additions to this residence overlooking Bronte and Tamarama Beaches. Highly detailed steelwork supports projecting timber windows and doors throughout, allowing completely open spaces.

Alterations and additions to a two-storey brick Victorian Terrace House in Darlinghurst. Key to the design was the implementation of a new glass stairway spine with skylights above, which introduces the opportunity to bring light deep into the building.

Situated on the corner of Mansion Rd and Victoria Rd, the house was envisaged as a castle, a gallery and a playground to house a multi-generational family.

The residence is conceived as two elements; a solid concrete base as the entry to the home and a perforated brass and timber box as the home’s private areas. Between these contrasting cool and warm elements is a negative space forming an open living platform and containing the concrete cantilevered glass bottom pool. The perforated private box has a brass mesh screen that opens at different apertures to allow the control of views, light, texture and ventilation.

The alterations and additions of two existing Federation Queen Anne houses in the inner Sydney suburb of Woollahra. A suspended walkway brings visitors through the void between the two houses, and a circular stairway consolidates level changes into a central spine.

The vertical format of the development departs from conventional warehousing models and sets a benchmark for prime A-grade warehousing stock within South-west Sydney’s industrial market.
The architecture and structural engineering teams have collaborated to develop a complex structural design and achieve innovative solutions to unique technical requirements. Seamless workflow between architectural and structural disciplines enables demanding design intent to be realised efficiently across supporting consultant work.

A specialist Private Hospital for a key site in Terrey Hills, Sydney, NSW. Situated on four hectares of vegetated land on Myoora Road, the hospital comprises eighty-four beds and six operating theatres.

Little Napier House aimed to provide a home for a growing family within the constraints of Paddington’s urban fabric. The two-storey heritage-listed house was 3.2m wide and 8m long – the land size 49 sqm. With the acquisition of the neighbouring property, the challenge became how to combine the two terraces to produce a house more than twice its original size.
