SRH Architecture designed the bespoke alterations and additions to this residence overlooking Bronte and Tamarama Beaches. The design balances the natural desire to open toward the impressive views across Tamarama yet retains controlled levels of privacy achieved through a layered approach of open yet recessed living and bedroom spaces and screening. A skylight with a dividing glass door below reinforces the differentiation in character between old and new.
Highly detailed steelwork supports projecting timber windows and doors throughout, allowing completely open spaces. The split-level house also explores the opportunities of volumes being pulled, pushed and punctured.
