As part of Deakin’s Health Hub Precinct, this proposal aims to enhance the site by providing additional commercial health services to the community and additional secure car parking to the growing area of Deakin, Canberra, ACT. The mixed-use development building will provide approximately 3500 sqm of consulting rooms, a café, a restaurant, a function centre and rooftop lounge areas.
Sustainability is core to the design, driving the use of Cross Laminated Timber – anticipated to be one of the first CLT buildings of its kind in the ACT. Mass timber construction forms the main structure of the building using glulam beams, columns and CLT floor slabs. Achieving Green Star credentials, this development allows for a balance of occupant health and well-being with resource minimisation and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
