SRH Architecture's proposal for 66 Philip Street draws from the existing heritage constraints on the site while also maximising views of the surrounding landscape. The proposal celebrates a generous public domain entry sequence which provides a physical and visual connection with the Parramatta River. Careful consideration of existing heritage built form and courtyards has been expressed through a considered play in the form of the tower such that solar amenity is maintained.
The development contains generous commercial tenancies with sky gardens at 3 levels over the tower, providing excellent views along Parramatta River and towards the city.
The building presents as an elegant slender addition to the high-exposure riverfront. The podium base level is visually anchored to the ground by virtue of its materiality. This creates a strong connection to the heritage building and provides a welcoming entry.
